Illawarra Business Awards gain Momentum

The Illawarra Business Chamber is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2013 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards are now open. 
 
Recognised as the largest regional business awards in NSW, the Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards puts the spotlight on the hard work and achievements of the Illawarra business community.

For the first time, the winners of the following categories of the 2013 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards will progress through as finalists of the state-wide NSW Business Chamber Annual Awards: Excellence in Sustainability, Excellence in Export, Excellence in Innovation, and Excellence in Small Business. 
 
“I encourage all businesses to nominate for the Awards and take the chance to showcase your business and gain due recognition not only in the Illawarra, but also potentially across NSW for those that progress through to State finals in November,” said Mr Halloran.
 
The Illawarra Business Chamber is also excited to announce that the 2013 Business Awards have a new naming rights sponsor – Momentum Energy, in addition to the support of the NSW Government. 
 
Momentum Energy’s Managing Director Nigel Clark, says Momentum Energy is looking forward to its partnership with the Illawarra Business Chamber.
 
“We are delighted to be partnering with the Illawarra Business Chamber to support the 2013 Business Awards. Local businesses are the backbone of this country and we are excited to be able to support the Illawarra region and strengthen our relationship within the community,” said Mr Clark.
 
Gareth Ward, Member for Kiama stated, “The NSW Government is proud to support the Illawarra Business Chamber’s Annual Awards Night which serve to promote business excellence and showcase innovation in our region. 
 
“These awards – the largest of their type in the State – allow the business community to shine a light on talented individuals and business leaders who drive the region’s economy and promote a positive and resolute message about the growing list of business success stories right around our region,” concluded Mr Ward.
Each year up to 1,000 people attend the Awards ceremony, which will be held this year on Friday 25 October 2013 at the WIN Entertainment Centre and will have a “Gatsby” Twist!
 
Nominations for the Business Awards are now open online.  There are twenty (20) categories available and all businesses are encouraged to enter. The online entry process is now open until Friday 30 August 2013 at illawarrabusinessawards.com.au.
