2015 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards Launch

Release Date: 29/06/2015
The Illawarra Business Chamber is pleased to announce that the 2015 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards will be launched on 29 June.

“2015 represents the coming of age of the Illawarra Business Awards as we celebrate the awards’ 21st birthday,” said Debra Murphy, CEO Illawarra Business Chamber.

Nominations for the 2015 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards are open from 29 June – 31 July. There are 15 categories to enter this year, which focus more on business outcomes rather than specific industries. Winners of 11 of the categories will get State wide coverage from progressing as finalists in the NSW Business Chamber Business Awards.

“Two of last year’s winners will be at the launch to share the benefits that their businesses gained through participating in the Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards,” said Ms Murphy

“Thanks to the scope of these awards, our passion for what we do has been showcased across multiple communities, to our clients and most of all our staff,” said Kirsty Fay of G.J. Gardner Homes Shoalhaven.

“These awards are a fantastic way to showcase your business within your community.  It is a great way to expand business to business relationships and mix with like-minded people,” said Ms Fay.

“Entering the Business Awards forces you to reflect on your previous year and analyse what you have achieved.  It is an opportunity to work on your business, rather than in your business,” said Ms Fay.

“We believe that our business has a very good story to tell. The Illawarra Business Awards gave us a great opportunity to share our story with many people we may not have otherwise had the chance to share with,” said Andrew Webb of Andrew Webb Family & Business Accounting.

“As a professional services firm, the exposure and profile gained through winning this award has been invaluable.  Publically displaying the award via our website and through other communication has provided a large amount of endorsement to our firm’s message,” said Mr Webb.

The IBC is also excited to announce that Momentum Energy is this year’s naming rights sponsor. This is the third year they have supported this prestigious event, and they have demonstrated strong support of the Illawarra business community since their involvement in the region over the last few years.

Momentum Energy’s Mr Andrew Foskett, National Field Sales Manager, says “We are delighted to be partnering with the Illawarra Business Chamber to support the 2015 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards for a third year running. Local businesses are the backbone of this country and we are delighted to be able to support the Illawarra region and further engrain ourselves within the community.”

“We’re excited that four months out from the awards more than 90% of the Gold Category Sponsorships have been filled. We’d like to thank Wollongong City Council, University of Wollongong, Telstra, TAFE Illawarra, Shellharbour City Council, Peoplecare, NSW Business Chamber, IRT Foundation, IMB, Illawarra Mercury, Illawarra Credit Union, BlueScope and Access Law for their much-appreciated support of the awards,” said Ms Murphy

This year’s Awards will be held on Friday 23 October 2015 at the Illawarra Performing Arts Theatre, featuring catering from Culinarius, a premium Illawarra catering company, along with top quality entertainment and the usual glitz and glamour of this prestigious event.

“We’d urge all local businesses to enter the 2015 Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards and reap the benefits of the stand out event in the Illawarra business calendar,” said Ms Murphy.
